Strange as I don't have a xorg.conf file!...can't find it in the X11 directory...only have xinit and xorg.conf.d directories in that directory..

Just checked my xinitrc file in xinit and noticed a line with 'twm &' in it, changed it to 'lxde'..rebooted and then tried starting LXDE and voila! it opened this time...rebooted and tried it again and it works.

So, while this appears to be good news, I don't understand why I have all the other error messages now..any suggestions as to how to fix?
